Fourier Transform Infrared Microscope
Fourier Transform Infrared Microscope

Overview

The IR beam is used to vibrationally excite molecules within the sample. The molecules are then identified based on their characteristic vibrations. The combination with microscopy allows for chemical mapping as well as chemical identification of particles and small contaminants.
