For laboratory access and to use BI equipment, complete the BI entrance training course and associated paperwork

Ensure you have the appropriate McMaster Safety training.

You must:

  • Check the matrix and make sure you've completed the necessary EOHSS/Biosafety training modules
  • Create a pdf/screenshot of your Mosaic Training Summar page. Ensure the status says "Completed" for the required modules.

Complete the online training module.

You must:

  • Review the Biointerfaces Institute training module and associated policies online.
  • Fill in the requested information.
  • Upload your EOHSS/Biosafety training record(s).
  • Take the quiz. You must get 100% on the quiz.

Hand-in a completed and signed BI Training Form.

You must:

  • Ensure that your supervisor has signed the form.
  • Drop off the form to a BI staff member or ETB 416.

FOLLOWING the completion of the above three items, users may be granted BI laboratory access during "Regular" working hours (weekdays 8:30am-4:30pm).

OPTIONAL

For after-hours access (weekdays 7am-8:30am & 4:30pm-11pm and weekends 7am-11pm), complete the BI Working Alone Form:

Hand-in a completed and signed BI Working Alone Form.

You must:

  • Ensure that your supervisor has signed the form.
  • Drop off the form to a BI staff member or ETB 416.
